Patterson's Stuffed Bell Peppers

8 medium green bell peppers
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 pounds extra lean ground sirloin
1 minced white or yellow onion
2 tablespoons dried parsley
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon each thyme and basil
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 28 ounce cans diced tomatoes
2 cans tomato paste


Line 9x12 baking pan with aluminum foil and then a layer of parchment paper. Remove tops, wash, and remove seeds from peppers. In skillet cook ground sirloin, onions, garlic until cooked through. Add seasonings. Add tomatoes and sauce and stir. Spoon mixture into peppers and bake at 350 degrees about 30 minutes in 9x12 baking pan. Makes 8 servings.
