Our family used to live in Beijing, China and loved to visit "Tea Streeet", as you would walk int the stores in the winter, this was a non-caffinated beverage you would be offered.

In food processor in the small bowl, process spices together until well mixed. Store in refrigerator of freezer. To heat, Take one tablespoon in a mesh loose tea spoon (used for making loose leaf green teas) and stir constantly in milk until flavors are distributed the longer the mesh spoon is left in the milk the stronger the flavors. I sometimes would put the spoon in the milk at dinner and then heat it up for bedtime. Serve warm but not scalding hot. This was a good bedtime beverage to settle a fuzzy child.
