Glemser's Spicy Spinach | |
Ingredients 2 10-ounce packages fresh, cleaned, baby spinach 1/4 cup half-and-half 2 tablespoons butter 1-2 tablespoons prepared horseradish pinch of salt Directions This has a jump out of your seat flavor, but it helps when suffering food fatigue. Our teens love this version of a creamed spinach. You might start by trying just 1/2 teaspoon of horseradish and work your way up to a robust serving of 1-2 tablespoons. If your kids love spicy foods they will go for this. Cook the spinach in butter until just wilted. Then add everything else and cook for about 5 minutes until creamy. If your child has difficulty with textures as our did as a toddler, our texture therapist had us blend this in a blender until smooth, using just a little bit of horseradish, over time it evolved into a more traditional creamed spinach. This can be frozen in an ice-cube tray and then stored in plastic bag in freezer. Use Vegetable, Snack |
